About Point99

This business exists because clients deserved better.

Too many small businesses get written off before anyone even looks at what they're selling. Not worth the effort, not big enough to matter. Point99 started as a bet against that.

What Point99 is built on.

I spent three years working as a Marketing Consultant under contract with Meta through Accenture, handling thousands of clients across every budget level, most of them small businesses. A lot of them had heard it all before. To them, I was just another freelancer with a script, one more voice repeating promises they'd stopped believing.

Back then, the smallest-budget clients had usually been burned worst. A freelancer or a self-styled "guru" would set up their ad account, take the money, and disappear. No follow-up, no check-ins, nothing once the payment cleared. By the time they got to me, offering real help for free, I was doing relationship repair before I ever touched their ad account. Some of them didn't want to trust anyone again.

Over time, clients started describing how I worked as raw, sincere, and original. I wasn't the smartest person in most of those rooms, and I didn't need to be. What they actually needed was someone who showed up like a human, not a genius, but a friend in their corner. The relationship came before a single ad ever went live, and that's the friendship-first approach I built Point99 to carry forward.

The .99 Cent Theory.

That instinct wasn't new to me by the time I got to Accenture. I'd already worked it out as a teenager, around the time I started spending my own money. My family used to travel, do things, say yes easily - and then gradually, we didn't. Not because anything changed except the cost. I started noticing that the gap between wanting something and being able to afford it was almost always the deciding factor. Most people aren't priced out of good services because they don't value them. They're priced out because no one bothered to price for them.

Same quality as the bigger agencies. Better cost. That holds for every client, every plan, every call.

My grandmother had a version of this too. She believed nobody is perfect, but you must always do your best to be right with the world. If 100% is perfect, 99% is the next best thing. That standard applies to every campaign and every client relationship I take on.

What working with Point99 looks like.

I take on a small number of clients at a time. That's intentional. You're not a ticket in a queue - you're a business I'm genuinely trying to grow.

I'm based in Ottawa. I'll meet in person when it helps. I've visited client locations before building a single campaign, because a real feel for the business matters before a word of ad copy gets written. If you run a restaurant, an escape room, or a local shop, I want to understand what makes someone walk through your door.

I'm honest about what's realistic. If your goals don't line up with your budget, I'll say so before you spend anything. If a campaign isn't performing, I'll tell you before you have to ask.

The strategy call is a straight look at your situation - what you're working with, what advertising could realistically do for your business, and what it would cost to get there. No commitment until you've heard the numbers.
